Burns supper

End of January every year, the ESC honours the life and work of the Scottish poet Robert Burns. Guests enjoy a traditional Scottish 3-course menu including the famous McSweens’s haggis. Live musicians on stage for the ceilidh dancing together with the pipers provide musical interludes throughout the evening. A real treat!

Annual Barbecue

A golden opportunity to connect with old friends and meet with new people in the relaxed atmosphere of the garden of l’Escale. Good food, games for the kids and mellow jazz contribute in making this such a worthwhile experience

Picnics

The scenic outdoors of the “Orangerie” in Strasbourg are the perfect setting for family picnics.  You bring your own food and we provide for the entertainment and an awesome afternoon together.

.

Book club

Do you love books and are looking for people to discuss literature with? You may want to consider joining our book club. We meet in private homes on a rotating basis the second Monday of the month. In addition to talking about a book, we finish the evening with a light dinner.

Aperos

Our Aperos usually take place the first Friday of the month from 6 onwards at a given bar in town. An opportunity to meet old friends and to make new ones in a relaxed atmosphere. The usual formula is that everybody pays upon being served for their drinks and complementary sides while the ESC provides some nibbles.

Language conversation groups

Our English, French, German and Spanish conversation groups are a wonderful opportunity to meet in small groups in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to exchange conversation, some in their native language and others to practice their foreign language-speaking skills.

Coffee mornings

Meeting people around a nice coffee and some pastries is a great way to start your day. Our monthly coffee mornings at l’Escale community centre allow for such an experience. Come and join us.
