image-002” Our visit concluded by an eagerly anticipated wine tasting session, which included a wonderful Crémant, followed by memorable Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer, my personal favourite.  The whole accompanied by delicious Kougelhopf and brioche. All expertly orchestrated by our wonderful guide in his excellent English. To those of you who are wondering why a cellar under a hospital?  It is because traditionally impoverished patients of the hospital used to offer to pay for essential treatments with the fruit of their labour out in the surrounding numerous vineyards.
